Accommodations

Remington, Hampden, and Charles Village are within walking distance of Homewood; Mount Vernon and Downtown are well-connected with free public transportation; Bolton Hill, Federal Hill and Fells Point are close in a car but not via public transportation. The best hotel options are found in Mount Vernon. Airbnb would also be a good option, particularly if you are looking for lodging closer to campus, for instance in Remington or Hampden.

Transportation

  • BWI is the closest airport. The MARC commuter train connects the airport to the city; however, its infrequent service means that taxi or rideshare apps may be more convenient. Lyft tends to be quicker and more affordable than Uber when departing from BWI.

Penn Station, a short bus or taxi ride from Homewood, is served by Amtrak and MARC trains, with frequent connections through the Northeast Corridor between Boston and Richmond.

  • The Charm City Circulator provides free service to all passengers. Its Purple Route is convenient for going between Homewood and points south, including Mount Vernon and the Inner Harbor. More information is available here.

Otherwise, rideshare apps are the most reliable alternative.
